Individual Counseling

Individual therapy is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist in a confidential environment. The purpose of the sessions would be to explore the individual's feelings and behaviors, work through challenging memories, process traumas, and identify aspects of the individual's life that he/she would like to change. The desired goal would be that the individual would gain a better understanding of self and set personal goals that will lead to the desired change.

Just like a medical doctor has to assess his/her patient’s injuries before the patient can be treated, the client must complete an intake in order to assess the client’s psychological, emotional, and behavioral well-being through open and honest dialogue.  Once this is done, the work can begin.
